Discover the fundamentals of pencil drawing in a relaxed, hands-on workshop designed to build confidence fast. Alan will guide you through essential techniques for seeing and drawing form, creating depth, and playing with light—so your sketches feel dimensional and alive.
What you will learn …How to hold the pencil for control & variation
Contour, gesture, and simple forms (sphere, cube, cylinder)
Light logic: highlight, midtone, core shadow, reflected light, cast shadow
Value scales & shading (hatching, cross-hatching, blending)
Basic composition tips to make your drawings read
